These scholarships are a type of financial aid which is provided in the form of loans and institutional grants.
Different scholarships are awarded on different grounds such as:
1.Merit Based Scholarship:
This is the most common type of scholarship. Here scholarships are awarded to student on the basis of there academic record. It is not given out depending on any financial requirements of the students. It is handed out for outstanding performance in studies, or voluntary services.
2.Skill Based Scholarship:
This type of scholarship is awarded to students on the basis of their athletic skills. The students who are exceptional athletes or sportsmen are rewarded with this scholarship. This is an entirely performance based scholarship.
3.Ethnicity Bases Scholarship:
This scholarship is entirely devoid of any performance excellence. It is given out on the basis of religion and ethnicity. The intellect, financial needs, or educational resources of a person are not considered in this scholarship. It is only reserved for a particular caste or religion.
